Are You Waiting Until the New Year to Look and Feel Good?
by Dorothy M. Neddermeyer
Many people are prompted by a special event to be serious about losing weight and/or getting in shape—New Year’s Resolution, wedding, anniversary, child’s graduation, etc. The hidden message in waiting for a special event to do something as important as losing weight and/or getting in shape is a loud and clear message—“I’m not as important as looking good for the event.” This is a sure set-up for self-sabotage in the long-term. You might lose the weight for the event, but put all the weight or more on afterwards.
This form of self-sabotage fits in with all the other forms of sabotage one unwittingly creates—procrastination, too busy to exercise regularly, not getting enough sleep and therefore too tired to exercise. The list goes on. We give into temptation at holiday gatherings because we don’t want to appear rude. We run ourselves ragged, stress our bodies, and tell ourselves that we can’t lose weight because it runs in the family—i.e. genetic or we have a sluggish metabolism.
The reason you are unable to lose weight is because you are putting everything and everybody before yourself. You need to schedule your life around your health, not your health around your life. Many people fail to make their health a priority—don’t assume that personal trainers and yoga instructors are an exception to the rule. The issue is that some of us let it go too far, making it ever harder to get ourselves back on track.
My challenge to you is to take care of your health NOW before your wake up call is high blood pressure, diabetes, knee, leg, ankle or feet problems from carrying excess weight, heart attack, etc. You have heard a thousand commercials about losing weight. There are dozens of diet programs and more than a hundred pills, potions and remedies. You have used many of these diet programs, taken more pills, potions and remedies than you care to remember. Yet, you still haven’t found the right formula to lose those extra pounds and keep them off. You know all the reasons to lose weight. You want to be healthy. You know you want to take better care of yourself. You are disgusted by what you see in the mirror—bulges and being out of shape. You are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You are at your wits end about what to do. The answer lies in a single word. LOSE. Yes, Lose. No one wants to lose anything. Psychologically, when we use the word, LOSE weight, the psyche experiences an immediate reaction to LOSS. It is not human nature to want to lose anything.
People don’t want to experience a loss:
• You don’t want to lose your way.
• You don’t want to lose your mind.
• You don’t want to lose heart.
• You don’t want to lose hope.
• You don’t want to lose sleep.
• You don’t want to lose money.
• You don’t want to lose time.
• You don’t want to lose a relationship.
• You don’t want to lose your good looks.
The key to success with weight is to change the process to gaining what you want, instead of losing something—weight—focus on gaining something, something that is a positive goal rather than a negative goal.
Nobody wants to be a loser—albeit for a good reason. We want to gain. We want to be thought of as a “Winner.’ When you lose something you look for it. Unconsciously, losing weight is losing a part of yourself—albeit a part you would rather not have—yet, unconsciously you don’t want to lose it and you look to replace it when it is gone.
The answer is: Stop dieting to LOSE WEIGHT!!! The secret is: Focus on what you want to gain not what you want to lose!
What do you want to gain?
• Better health
• High self-esteem
• High energy and vitality
• Fit and trim body
• Drop-dead gorgeous head turning looks
• Confidence in yourself
• Smaller clothes size
• Feeling Comfortable in your own skin
• And the list goes on…add your own
When you know what you want…in positive terms…then the key is to look inward and change your belief system and your mental programming. You will then achieve what you want—better health, high self-esteem, fit and trim body, etc.
There is a battle going on between your conscious and subconscious mind. Your conscious mind knows you need to lose weight for your health and well-being—but your subconscious mind resists the process because, “Lose” is a negative command.
Hypnosis is the most effective tool to gain what you want. Hypnosis goes directly to the subconscious to program what you want to gain…only then is change possible.
Using the most powerful mind programming technique ever developed...hypnosis… in a positive way to help you become fit, healthy, strong, physically trim and attractive, you will gain the body you desire. When you change your subconscious belief system you will walk, talk, eat, dress and live like the thinner, healthier, stronger, more physically fit and more attractive person you want yourself to be. Change the mental programming…changed behavior follows. When your internal thoughts change...the body changes.
