Keeping Our Spirits Young
by Eva Fry
An older man I know married his third wife. One day his wife said to me, “I love him but the only complaint I have is that the first two wives got his youth and good looks and all I got was his wrinkles!”
I said to her “You may have gotten his wrinkles but you got someone with a young spirit! This man is the most fun person I know. He always makes us laugh. He is full of love and compassion for others. He is the perfect example of some one whose body is aging but his spirit is staying young!
I know a lady who is ninety-one years old and she is still beautiful. She says, “The only time I feel old is when I look in the mirror. On the inside I still fell like a women of 21. I have learned that The Spirit Doesn’t Age.” I want to add to that, if you don’t let it!
We can’t change our years but we can change our attitude about aging. We can keep our spirits young. We can do it with life-long learning. If your not growing your not happy! We can stay young with a positive attitude. You are what you think you are!
We were born with gifts, talents and abilities. Our life should be spent discovering them and developing them so we can reach our potential and fulfill our life’s purpose and mission. We each have a mission.
We also need to realize that the bad things in our life can be used as motivation to learn and to grow from, and direct us toward our life’s mission. When we lose someone, in our life, there is no reason for life to end. We still have much to do and our loved one needs the peace of knowing we are ok. We need to endure to the end happily and productively.
As long as we still are alive, whatever our age, we still have exciting things we can do with our life. We must always be actively engaged in a good cause, if we to be happy and fulfill our life’s purpose and keep our spirits young.
My book YOU MUST HAVE A DREAM will help you understand truths of life, which you may not have thought of. It contains principals, that will get you excited about your life, and leads you toward your life’s mission. Our life’s purpose is to reach our personal potential and do what God sent us here to do and our life’s mission is to use what we have learned and teach other people these truths so they can also reach their potential, discover their purpose and fulfill their own life’s missions.
