Living a Possibility   By: Kathleen Gage Living a Possibility by Kathleen Gage So many possibilities, so little time. Our lives are notoriously busy, bowing to the requirement of a high-speed a life. We refer to our work as “busy-ness” often confusing action for achievement and many commitments as living a life of possibilities.  The more we do the busy-er we are, with less time to get things done. “Having it All” became the battle cry of the successful. Living a life of possibility was measured by the things we owned. The problem being, of course, that all possessions eventually lose their attraction. Years of busy-ness can leave us materially successful but soul weary.  True possibility is as elusive as potential and as faint as a morning dream. The minute you live the possibility it leaves the realm of “what if” and becomes the reality of the moment. It isn’t in chasing possibilities that we find our greatest satisfaction, but rather in taking the time to create an environment of limitless possibilities so life is a journey of choice not a race we will never win.  Possibilities, like people, require nurturing and a place to grow. Our minds house all possibilities, but access to them calls for a particular kind of self-love and personal knowledge. Knowing how and when to call forth the possibilities of your day or your life is an art. There are no project plans, goal setting courses or prioritized lists that will teach us to reach into our self and elicit the possibilities of our being.  This is personal work; the personal work of self-care, both simultaneously powerful and fragile.
